PAINTING
Tom Lewis began his painting firm in 1973 with a partner from Yale University. It all started when they began decorating Victorians in the Haight-Ashbury at the start of a restoration revival that was spreading throughout San Francisco and soon became known as the “painted ladies” Victorian revival.
During the storms of the early 80’s, San Francisco’s mid-rises throughout Pacific Heights began to show their wear and tear. Water intrusion, dry rot and concrete damage was a major concern. Tom Lewis Restoration and Consulting was there competing with the best painting contractors in San Francisco applying coatings, waterproofing and restoring the finest mid and high rises of Pacific Heights, Russian Hill and Nob Hill.
Today we continue to provide excellent pricing and services in the painting, decorating and restoration of San Francisco’s finest architecture.
Since 1984 Tom Lewis has been involved with the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) , an organization that began in 1884 and to this day sets the standard for painting, coatings and decorating across the United States and in the International community. Tom has been a part of this standard of excellence contributing to the growth and pride of the painting industry we see today.
1985-1988 Board of Directors and President of the Tamalpais Chapter, PDCA
1989-1994 Board of Directors and President of the California Council, PDCA
